Manchester United Transfer News: Zlatan Ibrahimovic Rumours Discussed by Agent

Manchester United Transfer News: Zlatan Ibrahimovic Rumours Discussed by Agent

Mino Raiola, Zlatan Ibrahimovic's agent, has described the possibility of the striker joining Manchester United as a "beautiful thing" and believes he wants "revenge" on Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola after the pair fell out at Barcelona.
Moving to Manchester United would be a beautiful thing. It's a great team with a great coach. I've made my decision, but it has not yet taken.

He's really busy with the [European Championship]. Out of respect his country, the fans and the coach must be professional and concentrate on that.
I think he wants revenge on Guardiola, although he does not live for it because you shouldn't have two graves - one for him and one for the enemy.
You learn more from defeats than you do from victories, and Zlatan learned a lot from what happened with Guardiola.
As a person, I don't like him either. Zlatan admits he is a great coach and I can think it but refuse to admit it.
According to Anthony Jepson of the Manchester Evening News, the pair had a high-profile falling-out after the Swede's stint under him at the Camp Nou.
With his contract at Paris Saint-Germain set to expire, Ibrahimovic and his camp have been strongly hinting at a move to Old Trafford this summer, per the Guardian's Barney Ronay, but neither side has confirmed such a move, according to Bleacher Report UK's Jonathan Johnson:
As WhoScored.com revealed, the forward enjoyed his best campaign yet in Ligue 1 last season:
Indeed, the 34-year-old defied his age and finished the year with 50 goals and 19 assists to his name in all competitions.
United legend Rio Ferdinand urged Premier League sides to consider him as a target this summer:
The Red Devils could benefit from those qualities in particular, having lost the swagger and winning mentality they once enjoyed under Sir Alex Ferguson.
After he played in Ligue 1—against a lower calibre of opposition than he'd face in the English top flight—some will doubt his ability to perform well in the Premier League at his age.
Ibra's poor outings at Euro 2016 thus far will have done little to change them of that idea.
However, as ESPN's Alex Shaw noted, he has little to work with in the Sweden side:
At United under Jose Mourinho, Ibrahimovic would have far better players supplying him with ammunition.
Against the stronger teams the Premier League has to offer, he won't replicate his goalscoring feats with PSG, but Ibrahimovic could still be a success.

Tottenham 'close to signing Victor Wanyama from Southampton'

Written by
Tottenham are close to making Southampton's Victor Wanyama their first signing of the summer, after the two clubs agreed a fee over the weekend.
Wanyama is set to undergo a medical on Monday, before potentially linking up with his former boss from St Mary's.
The fee, believed to be around £9million up front, could potentially reach up to £12m provided additional clauses are met.
The 26-year-old was linked heavily with a move away from Southampton last summer, but no clubs were able to breach the Saints' resolve and Wanyama played a pivotal role in leading the club to a sixth-placed finish.
Pochettino is keen to bolster his midfield options ahead of the upcoming season, with the Argentine attempting to balance another Premier League title challenge with Champions League football.
The Kenyan has made 85 league appearances for the south coast club, and has one year remaining on his current Saints contract.

Jamie Vardy to Arsenal: Arsene Wenger admits he expects striker target to 'stay at Leicester'

Written by
“Jamie Vardy, at the moment, is at Leicester,” he said. “On what I know he will stay at Leicester.”
Arsenal have activated a £20million release clause in the Premier League champions contract and verbally agreed a three-year, £120,000-a-week deal that allows for a further 12 month extension.
However the Gunners are still waiting formal confirmation from Vardy as to whether he will remain at Leicester. Though Arsenal are prepared to give the 29-year-old time to make his decision their pursuit looks increasingly forlorn, with the England striker having told international team-mates he is “80 per cent” likely to turn down a move.
Wenger is yet to publically comment on his side’s interest in the Leicester striker, who he spoke of in glowing terms throughout last season. However in an interview with Japanese TV over the weekend he confirmed that Arsenal were not expecting Vardy to take up the option to move to the Emirates.
Rejection from Vardy leaves Wenger needing to switch attention to other potential signings, and he may consider returning to the race for Spanish striker Alvaro Morata, also a target for Manchester United and Chelsea.
The Arsenal manager is currently in France, where he works as a pundit for French television, and has previously spoken of how he finds being at an international tournament to be the most effective way to conduct transfer business.
But, unfortunately for Arsenal supporters the players that have caught Wenger’s eye in the opening days of Euro 2016, including Manchester United’s Anthony Martial and Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman, are unlikely to be available in the summer window.
“At the moment most talented young players are in France,” he said. “We speak about Martial, we speak about Coman, who are still about 20. I’ve seen a very talent who came on the other day from Turkey, [Emre] Mor.

Argentina 4-1 Venezuela: Lionel Messi milestone at Copa America

Written by
Messi has matched Gabriel Batistuta's record of 54 goals for Argentina
Gonzalo Higuain's double (8, 28) and Luis Manuel Seijas' embarrassing penalty miss put the Albiceleste in control at half-time at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on Saturday.
Messi made it three - matching Gabriel Batistuta's tally of 54 goals for Argentina - on the hour mark and though Salomon Rondon deservedly got Venezuela on the scoresheet 10 minutes later, Erik Lamela swiftly snuffed out their hopes.
Messi, starting for the first time in this centenary edition of the tournament, curled an early effort wide before setting up Higuain's eighth-minute opener with a cross in from deep on the right flank, Higuain lunging in to sweep the ball expertly past goalkeeper Dani Hernandez.
Messi misjudged an opportunist lob with Hernandez stranded 18 yards out after misjudging Nicolas Otamendi's long ball but Venezuela threatened a leveller when a corner was not properly cleared, Rondon just unable to connect with a similar effort to Higuain's.
Arquimedes Figuera was ruled to have taken the ball rather than, as replays suggested, bundling Messi over in the penalty area and Wilker Angel blocked Higuain's shot.
Nicolas Gaitan's booking, for a hack at Alexander Gonzalez, ruled him out of a semi-final which moved a step closer when Figuera's woeful back-pass allowed Higuain to saunter around Hernandez and make it 2-0.
Figuera almost redeemed himself by setting up Rondon, who forced a superb reaction save from Sergio Romero, and the West Brom striker then headed against the left post from Seijas' corner.
Venezuela's resurgence continued as Romero had to adjust to tip Rolf Feltscher's deflected shot over before Martinez, having been denied one penalty, was awarded one after keeper Romero's clumsy challenge - but Seijas, a late inclusion in the line-up in place of the injured Adalberto Penaranda, was made to look foolish as Romero stood his ground to casually catch his chipped spot-kick.
Gaitan was just unable to put a hat-trick on a plate for Higuain straight from the second-half kick-off. Venezuela's Wilker Angel was then booked despite Figuera clearly being the guilty party as Messi was again fouled.
Messi put the game to bed on the hour after exchanging passes with Gaitan and finishing through Hernandez's legs.
Figuera was finally booked for his latest crude challenge on the Barcelona star, meaning he would have been dismissed but for the previous case of mistaken identity.
Rondon pulled a goal back with a header from Alejandro Guerra's left-wing cross but Argentina substitute Lamela immediately made it 4-1 with a deflected finish from Messi's pass.
And with little further goalmouth action it was Gerardo Martino's side who went forward to Tuesday's semi-final clash with the hosts in Houston.
In the other semi-final, Chile thrashed Mexico 7-0 in Santa Clara to set up a last-four encounter with Colombia in Chicago on Wednesday.

Transfer News: Arsene Wenger Left on the balance

Written by
18 June 2016
Both Jamie Vardy and Morata have netted brilliant goals for their countries on Thursday games in Euro 2016,
According to report from Getsportnews,The situation has left Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger on a blink of an eye on which player among the two he should sign in this transfer window to ensure that his club ends trophy droughts next season.

Leicester City star Jamie Vardy demonstrated his quality once again on Thursday as he scored the equaliser for England in the 2-1 win over Wales after coming from the bench at half-time.
It was Vardy's fourth England goal in five matches and continued his brilliant domestic form, with his 24 Premier League goals spearheading Leicester's Premier League title triumph.

On the other side of a coin Alvaro Morata has leapt to the top of the scoring charts with a brace in his team’s comprehensive victory over Turkey, which also saw Celta Vigo forward Nolito get onto the scoresheet with a well-taken effort.

Álvaro Morata has now scored 4 goals in 11 games for spain.
Goals have always been Morata’s problem. His game intelligence, movement, mental attitude and ability to link the play have never been questioned, but a moderate scoring record (just seven goals in 34 league games for Juventus this season) allowed doubts to linger and saw Del Bosque experiment with several options before settling upon the 23 year-old.

Arsenal are in need of a striker, as they look to rectify the problems that Arsene Wenger faced in the previous campaign. Though many players have been linked with the Gunners, the French manager has been considering either signing England international Jamie Vardy or Spaniard Alvaro Morata, as perreports. Despite all the claims, it is still not certain which player might move to the Emirates this summer, as a deal has not been completed yet for either of them.
The north London outfit was looking to make a positive start to the new campaign and in order to do that, they need to fortify various positions in the squad.
The attack has been a major issue as well, with Olivier Giroud failing to handle the pressure alone and none of the other strikers are helping him much with the responsibility of scoring goals due to various reasons including poor form and injuries.Due to this, Wenger is looking to sign either one of the players, if not both. If he fails to sign both, he might look for other options as well. However, the question now remains who will be the better player?? Will it be Vardy or will it be Morata??  Let’s compare!!
29-year-old Vardy scored 24 goals to help his side lift the Premier League title in the previous campaign. Further, he claimed a total of 6 assists, along with that as well and was a threat for every opposition that the Foxes faced. The former Fleetwood Town man also scored a few goals on international duty, more recently against Wales in the Euros, and looked impressive in every game he played.
Vardy is quite hardworking and has made a lot of runs, both on and off the ball. He has pushed hard at times and has good control on the ball. Apart from that, his finishing and composure are amazing as well. He would be a perfect signing for the Gunners, if the deal does go through.

He could probably replicate Robin van Persie from his last season in north London, prior to his departure to Manchester United. The Dutchman was the highest scorer in the top flight of English football, that term, though Arsenal still failed to win the league. Sir Alex effectively sealed the title when he signed van Persie.
Morata, on the other hand, is a talented star, who is still just 23 years old and already has the experience of playing for Real Madrid and Juventus. Despite that, he was not a regular at Turin and due to that, his form dipped at times.
The star striker was given just 23 starts in the previous campaign and another additional 20 appearances off the bench in Serie A. He passing ability and dribbling are surely his plus points and Morata falls back to help out his defensive line as well, which is seriously a major plus point for any striker these days.
He helps set up chances for his team-mates as well, with his creative ability, though his finishing is still something that needs to improve and can possibly with time. However, if asked which player would be preferred for Arsenal, it would surely be Leicester’s Vardy.

UEFA targets Croatia as another distebilizing factor after fireworks and crowd trouble vs. Czech Republic

Written by
Croatia will face action from UEFA after their Euro 2016 Group D game against Czech Republic in St Etienne was halted after their fans threw fireworks and at least 10 flares onto the pitch.
Croatia were leading 2-1 with five minutes to go when flares were thrown onto the field. Their players appealed to fans for calm but a firecracker then went off very close to a steward who was clearing the area, causing him to jump out of the way.
There were then disturbing scenes in the stand where the fireworks appeared to come from, with the Croatia fans seemingly fighting among themselves.
The game was stopped for around five minutes as referee Mark Clattenburg took the players to the centre of the pitch.
A UEFA statement confirmed that "disciplinary proceedings will be opened tomorrow once UEFA has received the official reports of the match delegate and referee."
"These are not supporters, they are hooligans," Croatia coach Ante Cacic said after the game.
UEFA has already opened a disciplinary case against the Croatian Football Association after a fan ran on the pitch following Luka Modric's goal in the 1-0 win against Turkey, with the case to be judged by their disciplinary on July 21.
During qualifying for Euro 2016, Croatia were ordered to close a section of their ground for a game as punishment for fans' racist behavior and crowd trouble -- including setting off fireworks and throwing missiles -- in a game in Italy.
Croatia were then docked a point in their qualifying campaign due to the racist behaviour of their fans in the return match against Italy, when a swastika was mown into the pitch.
"Maybe it's best that we don't play at all than that these things keep happening," midfielder Ivan Perisic said after the game.
When the game finally did restart, the Czechs forced a 2-2 draw with a 93rd-minute penalty to snatch a point from a game they had barely been in. They hadn't even created a goal-scoring chance until Milan Skoda's 76th-minute header halved the deficit. Perisic and Ivan Rakitic had netted for Croatia.
Rakitic told ZDF: "I am not sure whether it was a penalty. But if we can't behave on the stands, we might not have deserved it on the pitch."
If Croatia had won they would have been guaranteed a place in the round of 16.

Earlier this week, Russia were fined €150,000 and handed a suspended disqualification from Euro 2016 over crowd disturbances at their game against England.

Euro 2016 is turning into the tournament of last-minute goals.Czech 2-2 Croatia at the 90th minute.

Written by

This tournament has had more than its fair share of late drama.

If there’s one thing we’ve learned from Euro 2016, it’s that you should never leave a game early.
That’s because as of Friday afternoon, there had been more goals in the final five minutes of matches than there had been in the whole of the first half put together.
After Italy’s 1-0 win over Sweden  which Eder won for the Azzurri in the 88th minute, and Czech late equalizer at the 90th minutes, there had been 12 goals in the last five minutes compared to 10 in the first half.
England, of course, have been on both sides of the equation, surrendering a stoppage-time leveller to Russia in their first match before Daniel Sturridge sunk Wales in the 91st minute in Lens.
If you’re looking for reasons why this has been the case, the expanded format may be at least part of the reason.
With more smaller nations taking part than usual, there has been a lot of organised, deep defending, with teams working hard to break them down – and eventually doing so, as in France’s win over Albania.
Of course, it’s worth keeping in mind that the period described as the last five minutes isn’t actually five minutes at all because it also contains stoppage time.
With an average of four minutes of added time played at the end of each game this summer, that period is actually nine minutes long.
And of the 12 goals scored, seven of them have come in stoppage time including today's Czech  equalizer against Croatia.
Nevertheless, that’s still an awful lot of late goals – so no leaving early to avoid the traffic.
While the proportion of late goals has been striking in France, it’s worth pointing out that it’s not as much of an anomaly as you might think.
In fact, over the last four European Championships, late goals have been pretty common and influential.

The King of English Football scores again.England 2 - 1 Wales

Written by
What a genous he is?Jamie Vardy is becoming the King of English football due to his brilliance and the importance of the goals he is scoring.
Vardy has come off the bench and scores against Wales. He has scored probably the most vital goal of his carrier to level the score-and has sparked some serious celebrations.

At half-time against a determined Welsh line-up England were 1-0 down in the Euro 2016 showdown at Millennium Stadium and their tournament was in danger of coming to a very early finish.

Within minutes of his introduction he scored an equalizer at the 56th minutes to take a crucial point of encouragement making fans believe he deserve to be named The King of English Football.

Wales are a point back in second place, above Slovakia on head-to-head record, and need to beat Russia in Toulouse on Monday to guarantee one of the two automatic qualifying berths.

A draw against Slovakia in Saint-Etienne will suffice for England and they will approach the game with renewed optimism after belatedly kicking their tournament into gear.

It was the 102nd meeting between the teams, but the first at a major championship, and the boxy, British-style Stade Bollaert-Delelis provided an ideal setting on a day when fears of fan violence failed to materialise.

Wales recalled first-choice goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey after he missed the win over Slovakia owing to a back spasm, as well as Joe Ledley and Hal Robson-Kanu, who came off the bench in Bordeaux to score the winner.

While it meant that Wales were at full strength, they were content to let England, who were unchanged, force the issue and it was Hodgson's men who bossed the first half on a sunny afternoon in northern France.

They should have taken the lead in the seventh minute when Harry Kane freed Adam Lallana to cross for Raheem Sterling, but from seven yards out the Manchester City man could only slide the ball over the bar.

Gary Cahill and Chris Smalling threatened with headers, while the most contentious incident of the first period saw Kane denied a penalty when his close-range header struck Ben Davies's outstretched left hand.

Hart blunder

Bale, Welsh antagoniser-in-chief in the build-up to the game, had been a peripheral figure, save for a shot that was blocked by Cahill, but three minutes before half-time he strode onto centre-stage.

Wayne Rooney's foul on Robson-Kanu gave Wales a free-kick 35 yards out in a central position. Though Bale's shot had vicious pace and dip, Hart should have done better than palm it inside his left-hand post.

It made the Real Madrid forward the first Wales player to score against England since Mark Hughes, on his debut, in May 1984.

When the half-time whistle came, it drew a cascade of boos from the England end.

Hodgson was quick to react, sending on Vardy and Sturridge for Kane and Sterling at the break, and after Rooney had seen a low curler palmed behind by Hennessey, his side equalised.

Sturridge's flighted cross from the left was knocked down at the back post and Vardy swivelled to tuck away his fourth international goal.

He was standing around four yards offside, but replays showed that the previous touch had come from Wales captain Ashley Williams.

The on-pitch scene soon resembled the Alamo as Hodgson threw on teenage Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford for Lallana, leaving England with four of their five named forwards on the pitch.

Despite the charge it seemed Wales would hold out, only for Sturridge to collect Dele Alli's clever flick and steer a shot past Hennessey in the first minute of stoppage time, silencing the Welsh hordes.

Brazil names Tite as new coach.Dunga out Following relagation from Copa America

Written by

Former Corinthians coach Adenor Leonardo Bacchi, known as Tite, participates in a training session at the team headquarters in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Tite was appointed as new coach of Brazil's national team to replace Dunga.

Brazil is battling to find its form in time to host the Olympics and to save its qualifying campaign for the 2018 World Cup.

Corinthians boss Tite was named as the new coach of Brazil on Wednesday, succeeding Dunga, who was sacked after the team's humiliating exit from the Copa America, his club revealed.
But the task of turning around a lackluster Brazil in time for the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in August will fall to current under-20s coach Micale, said the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF).
Brazil is battling to find its form in time to host the Olympics, where it has never won gold, and to save its qualifying campaign for the 2018 World Cup.
But Dunga, the man appointed to turn things around after the embarrassment of the team's 7-1 World Cup semi-final thrashing by Germany on home soil in 2014, failed to deliver results fast enough.
Tite — whose real name is Adenor Leonardo Bacchi — had been widely touted as the successor after the CBF sacked Dunga and his entire staff on Tuesday, and Corinthians president Roberto de Andrade confirmed the move.
“Tite no longer works at Corinthians. He accepted the CBF's invitation,” he said.
The Brazilian Football Confederation has not confirmed the appointment, but officials there met with Tite on Tuesday.
Tite, 55, has coached a string of top clubs in Brazil, including Gremio, Atletico Mineiro and Palmeiras, as well as Al Ain and Al Wahda in the United Arab Emirates.
He has spent three trophy-studded stints at Corinthians, leading the Sao Paulo club to two Brazilian league titles, in 2011 and 2015, and the Copa Sudamericana in 2013.
In 2012, he coached them to a double championship of the regional Copa Libertadores and Club World Cup.
Changing coaches not enough
The national team's string of humiliating losses is just one more blow to Brazil's morale as the country struggles through a deep recession, political turmoil and a huge corruption scandal.
Tite is known as a coach with a talent for turning things around.
But he faces an uphill battle to return Brazil to its glory days, said influential sports columnist Juca Kfouri.
“He has a recent winning streak and plans to bring Brazilian football back to its roots. But he belongs to the school of results-oriented football. So he should be more efficient than Dunga,” Kfouri told AFP.
But “Brazilian football's problems can't be solved by changing coaches,” he added.
That, he said, can only be done by addressing the “structural” problem of corruption in football and “breaking with the style of power of the Teixeiras, Marins and Del Neros.”
The reference is to the CBF's past two presidents, Ricardo Teixeira and Jose Maria Marin, and current boss Marco Polo del Nero, all of whom have been indicted by the United States in its sweeping investigation of corruption in world football.
Renaissance man?
Tite got his nickname as a talented young player from Luiz Felipe Scolari, Dunga's predecessor, who reportedly garbled his name when he introduced him to the directors of a local football club.
He hung up his boots at the relatively young age of 28 due to knee injuries and turned to coaching, leading Gremio to win the Brazilian Cup in 2001.
Corinthians fans credit him with nothing short of a renaissance.
“Thanks to you, my children watched Corinthians win more titles in two years than I saw in 20 and my father in 40. Thank you Tite!” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Tite deserves the national team, but the national team and the CBF don't deserve Tite,” tweeted another.
The new coach inherits the team in the middle of a troubled World Cup qualifying campaign.
They are currently in sixth place in their regional group, which would be too low to qualify.
Brazil prides itself on being the only team to have played in every World Cup, and leads the all-time winners' list with five titles.
Meanwhile, Olympic team coach Micale will be in the spotlight when the Rio Games kick off on August 5 and Brazil goes for its first football gold.
Chief on the player list should be Barcelona striker Neymar, who was absent from the Copa America after his club side made that a pre-condition of releasing him for the Olympics.@Mpembuzi24 2016

Liverpool transfer boost: World superstar would consider Premier League switch

Written by
ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI would consider a move to the Premier League, according to reports.

By Mpembuzi24/ Published 16 June 2016

Poland centre-forward is growing increasingly unsettled at Bayern Munich.
And although he is in talks over a contract extension with the German giants, the 27-year-old is said to have told friends he is willing to listen to offers.
Back in May it was exclusively revealed that Lewandowski is an ambitious transfer target for the Reds this summer.
Klopp is hopeful of persuading the striker to join him on Merseyside, despite the lack of Champions League football on offer.
Lewandowski completed a controversial move to Bayern in 2014, arriving on a free from arch rivals Dortmund.
He has scored an impressive 47 goals in 57 top flight starts during his two seasons at the Allianz Arena.
And according to the Daily Mail, the prolific hitman believes he has proved himself in Bavaria and wants a new challenge.
Lewandowski is set to lead the line for his country against Germany at Euro 2016 later today.
Poland are currently second in Group C, trailing Germany only on goal difference after their 1-0 win over Northern Ireland.

Ronaldo is no Messi,Argentina 5-0 Panama

Written by

Cristiano Ronaldo is an ungracious human being, say Iceland after Portugal captain claims they had small mentality after Euro 2016 drawEven though Argentina was able to take down Chile in its first game of the tournament without Lionel Messi, having him on the field for 30 minutes against Panama showed that for La Albiceleste, it’s always better to have him in the lineup.
Messi entered the game in the 61st minute when Argentina was struggling against a 10-man Panama team that was trying everything to find the tying goal in a tight, 1-0 game. The Barcelona forward would go in, score three goals, and wipe off any issues Argentina may had been having at that point.
“Leo went in and he solved everything,” head coach Gerardo Martino said at the end of the game that ended in a 5-0 Argentina win.
Defender Marcos Rojo highlighted the leadership La Pulga has displayed within the team ahead of the game against Bolivia in Seattle.
“In 30 minutes he made a difference,” Rojo said. “It gives us a lot of peace that he is on the field, and outside of it he is one more guy on this group; a phenomenon.”
Lionel Messi is good at soccer. You may know this. In fact, the whole world probably knows this.
On Cristiano Ronaldo’s play against Iceland (1-1)
It’s time that we ask ourselves if Cristiano Ronaldo is starting to lose touch with reality. His comments after his Portugal team drew with Iceland yesterday sounded a lot like a man who’s truly lost touch with reality.
In the aftermath of his side’s disappointing start to Euro 2016, the Real Madrid star took to the media to lash out at the Iceland side that cost his nation two points. Ronaldo referred to the way Iceland acted after the match as characteristic of his opponents’ “small mentality.”
Evidently, the most vain player in football took offense to how Iceland’s players celebrated the draw after the final whistle. Forgive me if I don’t shed any tears for Ronaldo. If he wasn’t interested in seeing happy Iceland players after the match, perhaps he should have played better.
For those who missed the match, it was hardly a vintage performance by Ronaldo. He’s clearly the most talented player on the Portuguese squad and they need him to be at the top of his game if his country is going to be able to make any noise in the competition. He let his teammates and his country down against Iceland.
Whoscored.com credited Ronaldo’s play with a score of 6.6 in the match. Frankly, I think that was pretty generous after watching Ronaldo fail to have any real impact on the match. He was anonymous for large passages of play when his teammates clearly needed him to play like the star he is.
I’m forced to wonder if Ronaldo is starting to crack under the immense pressure he faces on a regular basis. The presence of Gareth Bale at his club is starting to highlight that he isn’t the number one option for Real Madrid anymore, and that insecurity seems to be spilling over into Ronaldo’s role with his country.
Ronaldo doesn’t strike me as the type of player to handle his transition away from greatness with a lot of class. It will be interesting to see if this sort of tantrum becomes more common as his game starts to decline. Quite simply, Ronaldo needs constant attention to feel normal. If he can’t garner notoriety with his play, expect him to engage in shenanigans to make sure he remains in the news.
