Poland centre-forward is growing increasingly unsettled at Bayern Munich.
And although he is in talks over a contract extension with the German giants, the 27-year-old is said to have told friends he is willing to listen to offers.
Back in May it was exclusively revealed that Lewandowski is an ambitious transfer target for the Reds this summer.
Klopp is hopeful of persuading the striker to join him on Merseyside, despite the lack of Champions League football on offer.
Lewandowski completed a controversial move to Bayern in 2014, arriving on a free from arch rivals Dortmund.
He has scored an impressive 47 goals in 57 top flight starts during his two seasons at the Allianz Arena.
And according to the Daily Mail, the prolific hitman believes he has proved himself in Bavaria and wants a new challenge.
Lewandowski is set to lead the line for his country against Germany at Euro 2016 later today.
Poland are currently second in Group C, trailing Germany only on goal difference after their 1-0 win over Northern Ireland.
